Step-by-Step Guide
1
Locate the filter compartment. On the Luna G3 and Luna II, the filter door is located on the back or lower side of the machine. Slide the door open to reveal both filters.
2
Replace the white disposable filter every 30 days. The white ultra-fine filter catches small particles and allergens. It is not washable — discard and replace it monthly. Filters are inexpensive and available from your DME provider on a regular supply schedule.
3
Clean the gray foam filter every 2 weeks, replace every 6 months. Remove the gray foam filter and rinse it under warm water until the water runs clear. Gently squeeze the water out — do not twist or wring. Let it air dry for at least 2 hours before reinstalling. Never put a damp filter back into the machine.
4
Clean the humidifier chamber weekly. Remove the water chamber, empty any remaining water, and wash it with warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly. Once a week, soak the chamber in a mixture of one part white vinegar to five parts water for 30 minutes to remove mineral deposits. Rinse well after soaking.
5
Clean the tubing weekly. Disconnect the CPAP tubing from the machine and mask. Rinse it through with warm water and a small amount of mild soap. Hold one end up and let water run through the full length. Hang it to air dry completely before reattaching.
6
Wipe the machine exterior monthly. Use a soft damp cloth to wipe down the outside of the machine. Do not use alcohol-based cleaners or cleaning wipes directly on the machine — these can damage plastic components.
7
Set a supply reorder schedule. Under Medicare and most insurance, you are eligible for replacement filters, tubing, and mask cushions on a set schedule. Contact your DME provider to set up automatic supply shipments — this ensures you always have fresh supplies without having to track it yourself.

Hello. Regular filter maintenance keeps your Luna CPAP machine running cleanly and extends its lifespan. Here is the complete maintenance schedule.
Luna G3 and Luna II Filter System.
Luna machines use a two-filter system: a white disposable fine particle filter and a gray reusable foam filter.
Step 1: Locate the filter compartment. On the Luna G3 and Luna II, the filter door is located on the back or lower side of the machine. Slide the door open to reveal both filters.
Step 2: Replace the white disposable filter every 30 days. The white ultra-fine filter catches small particles and allergens. It is not washable — discard and replace it monthly. Filters are inexpensive and available from your DME provider on a regular supply schedule.
Step 3: Clean the gray foam filter every 2 weeks, replace every 6 months. Remove the gray foam filter and rinse it under warm water until the water runs clear. Gently squeeze the water out — do not twist or wring. Let it air dry for at least 2 hours before reinstalling. Never put a damp filter back into the machine.
Step 4: Clean the humidifier chamber weekly. Remove the water chamber, empty any remaining water, and wash it with warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly. Once a week, soak the chamber in a mixture of one part white vinegar to five parts water for 30 minutes to remove mineral deposits. Rinse well after soaking.
Step 5: Clean the tubing weekly. Disconnect the CPAP tubing from the machine and mask. Rinse it through with warm water and a small amount of mild soap. Hold one end up and let water run through the full length. Hang it to air dry completely before reattaching.
Step 6: Wipe the machine exterior monthly. Use a soft damp cloth to wipe down the outside of the machine. Do not use alcohol-based cleaners or cleaning wipes directly on the machine — these can damage plastic components.
Step 7: Set a supply reorder schedule. Under Medicare and most insurance, you are eligible for replacement filters, tubing, and mask cushions on a set schedule. Contact your DME provider to set up automatic supply shipments — this ensures you always have fresh supplies without having to track it yourself.
